Audia Ellis DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Audia Ellis, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC has been a Registered Nurse for 17 years and a board-certified Nurse Practitioner for 13 years. Ms. Ellis attended Capital University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. While practicing in the inpatient setting as a Registered Nurse, she began her pursuit of becoming an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She attended Otterbein University and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Ms. Ellis’ clinical experience includes experience as a Medical-Surgical nurse, followed by experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Telemedicine as a Nurse Practitioner. In her early years of practice as a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Ellis truly saw the importance and value of the application of evidence gained through nursing research into clinical practice and decided to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree which she completed at Otterbein University.

Ms. Ellis obtained her legal nurse consulting education from Duke University. Leighman Legal Nurse Consulting was formed with the goal of assisting and educating attorneys through the provision of high-quality, timely services that bridge the gap between healthcare and medically related issues in the litigation process, as well as being a trusted resource in the legal industry. As part of her professional experience, Ms. Ellis has had the great pleasure of providing care to diverse patient populations, which has equipped her with firsthand knowledge pertaining to a variety of issues that may arise in medical and nursing-related legal cases.

Ms. Ellis currently resides in North Carolina where she enjoys actively practicing as a Nurse Practitioner and as a Legal Nurse Consultant. She enjoys traveling, hiking, networking, spending time with family and friends, and is an ultimate foodie.
